Role: Senior Strategist

Waste (Drum & DADI Agency of the Year 2020) is looking for a Senior Strategist to join their growing team of insightful thinkers and inspirational communicators. You’ll be working with the biggest global brands in entertainment, with a particular focus on gaming, helping to understand audience segments, map fan ecosystems, devise standout strategies and enhance creative effectiveness.
The strategy team deliver a retained cadence of content and campaign planning, social listening, reporting and creative optimisation. We also provide insight and inspiration for ad-hoc client briefs, new business opportunities and the agency’s own innovative initiatives. The role will cover:
Consumer & category research sprints
Mapping brand ecosystems & customer journeys
Client workshop planning & leading
Writing insightful and inspirational creative briefs
Writing insightful and instructive client reports (ad campaign & always on content)
Devising campaign & content plans
Developing client relationships & driving strategic opportunity
Upskilling and guiding Junior Strategists
Strategic support on new business pitches & agency initiatives
Experience and skillset must include:
Min. 3 years senior strategic agency experience (B2C social/digital)
A strong toolkit of planning frameworks & practises
Experience in entertainment marketing & gaming a major plus
Blend of upper funnel brand planning and lower funnel execution (including social content, paid social, community management, influencer marketing, display)
Handling, processing & analysing data (social, web, customer)
Consumer & market research (primary & secondary)
An instinct for an insight
Clear, concise & compelling written & spoken presentation
Ability to inspire high standards and maintain great team morale
Guardianship of client strategy & trusted client relationships
Confidence to make decisions when armed with clear goals
