Role: 3D & Motion Art Director

Waste is an independent digital creative agency founded in 2006 on the principle of cutting out unnecessary agency fluff in favour of urgency, expertise and a no-fuss attitude. We call this approach Maximum Digital. Minimum Nonsense.
With offices in London and Los Angeles, we employ 60 specialists covering strategy, creative, social & web content, advertising, digital experiential, DOOH, UX and SEO.
Our client list includes Supercell, the mobile gaming giant, for whom we deliver player acquisition and retention built around community listening and high-speed, high-quality content creation. Other entertainment clients are Nintendo, Sega, Warner Brothers, Turner and Ubisoft.
Waste also provide digital leadership for energy giant Centrica, covering British Gas, Hive, Dyno and Direct Energy. Other clients include dating app Badoo, lottery giant Camelot and media brand family Oath.

What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a conceptual, 3D- savvy, hands-on motion-loving Art Director to work on premium animation projects for some of the biggest mobile games in the world, including Boom Beach, Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars.
From conceptual thinking to storyboarding; lighting and rigging to the final grade, you’ll own the process and deliver world class work to a massive global audience.
5 years’ or more experience in a motion/ animation/3D role
Experience in art directing high-end 2D & 3D projects (static and moving) is a must. Covering lighting, character posing and animation
Super keen eye for detail with pixel precision- you’re able to spot the smallest of mistakes and solve them
Experience lighting ultra-premium 3D pieces. (theory rather than practice)
Expert technical understanding of colour theory, staging techniques and composition
You’re a problem solver, and you thrive working in a team with fellow creatives
You can scamp, photoshop, put a deck together and generally kill it with top draw art direction
You’ll have an interest in mobile gaming (you’ll be playing at work) and prepared to fully immerse yourself in gaming brands.
Experience working in a fast-paced studio environment, working on multiple projects at the same time, where craft and precision are absolutely paramount
Digital agency or video game industry experience a must
