Role: Senior Art Director

Waste is an independent digital creative agency founded in 2006 on the principle of cutting out unnecessary agency fluff in favour of urgency, expertise and a no-fuss attitude. We call this approach Maximum Digital. Minimum Nonsense.
With offices in London and Los Angeles, we employ 60 specialists covering strategy, creative, social & web content, advertising, digital experiential, DOOH, UX and SEO.
Our client list includes Supercell, the mobile gaming giant, for whom we deliver player acquisition and retention built around community listening and high-speed, high-quality content creation. Other entertainment clients are Nintendo, Sega, Warner Brothers, Turner and Ubisoft.
Waste also provide digital leadership for energy giant Centrica, covering British Gas, Hive, Dyno and Direct Energy. Other clients include dating app Badoo, lottery giant Camelot and media brand family Oath.
The Maximum Digital, Minimum Nonsense approach has seen us win more than 50 awards, including: Awwwards, BIMAs, FWA, CIM, Pixels, Lovies, W3 and Webbys.
Waste are renowned for brewing our own craft beer, the Waste Pale Ale (WPA), a firm favourite with clients and partners. We also support the UK based gaming charity, SpecialEffect.
What we’re after:
A senior Art Director who’s up for pushing and inspiring one of our biggest clients to keep producing fresh and interesting creative work. Although predominantly working on a key client, there are loads of opportunities to get your grubby little creative hands on all kinds of other stuff.
You’ll be working closely with our ACD and our aim will be to work together on all sorts of briefs. Not just that, you’ll need to bring your AD skills to the table too to help manage, inspire and direct all manner of projects as they go through the design processes to delivery.
From blue sky to banner ads, content to carousels, it’s fast and furious, but never dull.
8 years’ or more experience. Or at least blag it like a creative who’s been in the industry for nearly a decade.
Digital stuff. It’s mostly what we do so you’ll need to know all about that. And more.
Work within a team. Work with other teams across other departments. Be a team player. Be able to work alone.
Good with clients. A good leader. A good listener. Good presenter. Good at taking the initiative. Just all round good – if not great.
Can get on the tools and scamp, photoshop, put a deck together and generally kill it with top draw art direction and design – proof needed.
