Founded in 2014 the Hackney Draper is a multifaceted boutique based in the vibrant setting of Chatsworth Road. The shop has become a destination point for interior lovers nationwide; stocking a wide selection of unique, indigenous and ethnic textiles, all sourced from around the world. The Hackney Draper also offers a bespoke soft furnishings service specializing in curtains, blinds, upholstery and cushions.

We have a unique opportunity to join our busy and growing business as the Head of Buying. This role will primarily be responsible for sourcing new and eclectic items for the store, managing the website and leading the creation of our new own-brand range of products. You will be responsible for the management of stock for the shop, both in the short and the long term. You will forecast trends keeping a close eye on the current market as well as our own past performance. You will also be working closely with the assistant manager in order to promote store and website profitability.

We are looking for a pro-active self-starter with a passion for unique products, textiles and interior design. You will have experience or education in buying within an interior, fashion, design or textiles business. You will have a design flair, a good fabric knowledge and a trend awareness. You will have excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English. You will have strong analytical skills as well as being highly organized and detail orientated.

The position is likely to suit a buyer, fashion buyer, product designer, sales analyst, textiles designer, homeware designer, online merchandiser, store merchandiser, showroom manager, marketing manager.
Salary will be based on relevant experience.
